I'm sure it was nothing. I freak out about those types of things, too, but most of the time there's nothing to worry about. Usually, if the light IS red, your brain notices it MUCh faster than if it's green and you have no need to acknowledge it. So it was most likely green.
And at least there were no cops. ;)
