| In addition to Thursday, today is also 8/13. Yes, there is significance to this, but it involves me being an Organization XIII fangirl and nobody wants to hear about that, yeah?
My life has been pretty low-key lately, except for last weekend when I went "camping" (and I use the term very loosely because it was basically sleeping outside in a tent at a lake house) with a few girls from my dorm at ASP. It was my friend Kate's family's lake house, so a bunch of her family was up there too. It was a good time. There were many Adventures including bonfires, tubing, boat rides, offroading, running around in the dark trying to scare each other, being in two places at once, card games, antique stores, photo ops, ice cream, and trying not to die while barreling down a dirt road hill at about 55 miles per hour. Eventually I will have pictures up on Facebook.
Other than that weekend adventure, though, I've just been hanging out at home. (& my brother and I will be the only ones home until Sunday, so if anyone wants to come keep me company...) I've also realized that I have less than two weeks now before school starts and so I really have to finish up my summer homework... but most of the time I'm really, really lazy about it. I've already done enough work this summer, damn it.
Oh, and yesterday I got a new pair of glasses because my current pair has a prescription that's five years old and so they really don't help me that much anymore. I still won't be wearing glasses that much, but it'll be nice to not have to put in my contacts if I want to be able to see while I'm lounging around the house.
Obligatory geek!note: Crisis Core music is fricking awesome, Sephiroth is my Omnicidal Maniac lover, and I wish I had a DS so that I could satisfy my love for the Organization with Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days. I guess I can just hope for a PS2 release, just like Chain of Memories came out for the PS2 when I wasn't paying attention. | |

| So I had quite the adventure today. I needed to go Mother's Day shopping at the mall (because yesterday my mum took me there and showed me exactly what she wanted... so yeah, not much of a surprise as to what she's getting), and I was going to have Andrew take me but he'd already done his shopping so I figured hey, I have a license, there's a car free, I'll just go by myself. So I'm driving to the mall, nothing really exciting there. Until I accidentally go through what I'm pretty sure is a red light.
The thing is, I'm not really sure whether it was red or not. I know there was a light there, but I didn't notice what color it was until I had already gone through it, and the only indication that I had done something wrong was that I practically got run over by a turning pickup truck. So then once I realize what I might have done I have a huge OH SHIT WHAT HAVE I DONE moment, and I definitely start hoping that there were no cops around to see it. So I drive the rest of the way to the mall feeling like I'm on the run from the law. It felt kind of badass, actually. From there the shopping trip proceeds normally. I bought my Mother's Day gift and then I went on the Quest for Another Denim Skirt, which took me to Kohl's and Old Navy, and I found success at Old Navy after discovering that there is only one style of (weird, really short) denim skirts in the juniors section of Kohl's.
So now I have another unsolved mystery in my life: Was The Light Red When I Went Through It? (The other unsolved mystery, of course, is the oft-mentioned How Did Final Fantasy X Get On My Lost Season Four Finale Tape?)
