parallel lines make my brain implode. they make me want to tear out my brain stem, go into the middle of the nearest three-way four-way intersection and skip rope with it.

i have a quote stuck in my head, and i don't know who says it. it's something to the effect of "there's just a point in your life when you have to say 'i tried, and i failed.'" the only possibility i can think of is jack from lost, but i'm not entirely sure about that one. any help?

i want to write the first chapter or two of my fourth book. the first chapter will probably flashback to karis killing jace, which i already have mostly written; i just need to add background info. then the second chapter will probably involve karis and her governmentalness. which means i need a new name for the government. i'm thinking something simple - just like a noun or something. i also need a new name for xopelor. for his first name i'm thinking either xavier or ximun, which both have their positives and negatives. xavier is easy to pronounce, but i can't imagine him as a xavier. ximun is harder to pronounce (i don't even know the real pronunciation of it; i'd guess either zee-mun or zi-mun), but it's just such a good name. i can totally imagine him as a ximun. but i'm trying to stay away from outrageous names, so ximun might be too much. as for his last name, i'll probably just use something latin. but chapter two might have isabella the government guard in it! (and don't think that i'm playing favorites by using the name isabella; the character was one of the two random guards that popped into my head while trying to fall asleep after reading harry potter and the deathly hallows. isabella just happened to be her name. her counterpart is ethan. isabella and ethan happen to be the 4th most popular names for babies in 2006, so i think that's where it came from.)
