Note to self: Do not spent excessive time reading the Tear Jerker page on the TV Tropes Wiki, as it brings about severe depression. (Makes me really want to write the depressing parts of Across the Ocean, because there's a very significant character death that pretty much brings down the mood of the whole plot for a while.)

So you know the mysterious technological event involving Sephiroth my alarm clock and the random playing of "Make Your Own Kind of Music" when I got out of the shower that I was talking about on Tuesday? I think I've figured out the mystery. The reason the song was still playing when I came back into my room, despite the fact that I thought that it would have moved on to another song, was because I have my playlists set to repeat once they're done, and so I had selected "Make Your Own Kind of Music" even though I had selected it through artist name, it still counted that as being on a playlist, and since that's the only song I have by Cass Elliot, it just played on repeat over and over. This was confirmed yesterday when I had Laguna my iPod plugged in to Squall my computer (to use my 133+ h@x0r skills and transfer music off my iPod to my computer) and I realized that "Make Your Own Kind of Music" had a play count of 12, and the only way that I could have listened to the song 12 times (since I only bought it a couple of weeks ago) is if it had accidentally been on repeat.

So yeah, long story short, one technological mystery has been solved. Now if only I could figure out how FFX got onto my Lost season four finale tape...

Since I was talking about being depressed over Tear Jerker moments earlier, I thought I'd share some silly too. Sonic Weapon Fence, a band that sings humorous Lost songs. My personal favorites are "Magic Box" and "Mixed Signals." (In my own moment of humorous musical moments today, I started making up lyrics to the instrumental "Aerith's Theme" from FFVII which basically state over and over again that Aerith Is Dead and We Are Sad... but that's another story altogether.)

Yes, I am a dork past midnight.

for those of you who haven't heard yet, here is a link to one of the articles that reports j.k. rowling's declaration that dumbledore is gay. i personally think it's kind of random. i mean, i'm not one to picture dumbledore with a sex life =/

so i had a most interesting morning this morning. first, i was having a dream that involved orlando bloom, keira knightley, and some other attractive actor with a british accent (i think it was either ewan mcgregor or that guy from across the universe). the premise of the dream had something to do with the punic wars, i think (or some other kind of random ancient war; it would most likely be the punic wars, though, because we've been studying them in western civ). anyway, in the dream it was the end of the battle and the three attractive accented actors were on a sinking wooden boat, and there was one guy from one side (of the people fighting), and then the other guy and keira knightley were from the other side of the war. (i don't remember which guy was on which side, so we'll just call them guy 1 and guy 2.) so guy 2 (who's on the opposite side from keira knightley), really has a crush on her but doesn't want to be involved with the enemy. but guy 1 (who's on the same side as her) starts kissing her first, but she isn't happy about it. so guy 2 says something like "wait, that's wrong" and then he pulls guy 1 away and starts kissing her. and she likes this, so she and guy 2 are just kind of floating in the water (because by now the little wooden boat has practically sunk) for a while and making out. so it's after this little escapade that i wake up to my alarm. usually i wake up to my ipod, but this time it was the beeper alarm, but for some reason i don't think anything of it. but then i realize that my clock isn't lit up, so i'm just like, "huh?" and then i think, "hmm... maybe the power has randomly gone out." so i try to turn on my light, which doesn't work. so yup, the power's randomly decided to go out. then i realize that this completely sucks because i have to take a shower. and i can't go to school dirty of course. so i'm just lying there with a flashlight that's practically dead, completely pissed off and thinking about how much i hate my life. this happens for about 10 minutes. then the power comes on again, so i get up and do a Dance of Joy, and then get in the shower. as my mom said to me, "the power gods must have been looking fondly upon you."

also, kirjava is on her way to being completely healed! she's been playing dvds for a couple weeks now with no fuss whatsoever, and today she managed to read the cd of pictures from sarah's camp! so now i have lots of lesbian lover pictures on my computer. if anyone else wants the disk, i can give it to them friday (or anytime beforehand if you're an sta person). so if kirjava is still being agreeable, i just may have a cd for bella! *glee* but you owe me one too, so don't forget. we'll be at your house so i can NAG you! =)

...finally, is it a wee bit pathetic that when we were talking about the downfall of the roman republic in western civ today, i was thinking of the republic in star wars the whole time? i also find ways to compare macbeth to the lion king in english class. (and matt drew me a lady macbeth muffin! squee!)

i think i've done this quote of the day within the past few months, but it's the only one i can think of at the moment.

Quote of the Day:

"I didn't realize it was Happy Hopping Moron Day."

my stupid moment of the day:

today after our second (and last) class, we were told to go to our advisory period for "advisory period challenge" and leave our backpacks either in our locker or in front of our lockers until field day was over. so i go to the fourth floor, put my backpack in my locker, and go to advisory period and field day. after field day is over i come back to my locker, and it turns out that somebody LOCKED IT >:-| and of course i don't have my combination memorized because i haven't had to unlock my locker all year, and guess where the combination is? yup. in my backpack, in my locked locker.  so then i had to go down to the attendance office and pay 25 cents to get my combination. but i wasn't the only one; apparently a lot of the lockers got locked, and those who didn't know their combinations were screwed.

on a happier note, i have decided to name my major electronics with a "his dark materials" theme. my ipod is lyra, my ihome is pantalaimon, my laptop is will, and my cd/dvd drive (which has a mind of its own sometimes and therefore deserves a name) is kirjava (that's will's demon's name, right? i'm too lazy to look it up). i am also almost all the way through the shuffle on my ipod lyra. it has taken me a month. once i finish i can put my new disney songs on it her. squee.

lastly, here is an... interesting... conversation that i overheard between michela and dan the openly gay senior on monday:

michela: if we had kids together, they would be beautiful.
dan: you wanna do it?
michela: *looks affronted* my vagina!
dan: don't be selfish.

Quote of the Day:

"Danger? Ha! I walk on the wild side. I laugh in the face of danger. HAHAHAHAHA!"
--Simba, from The Lion King
