So in procrastinating my homework I found this lovely little gem posted on the BtN Lounge: http://www.thepregnancytester.com.

apparently i had sex with the pope )

I find it hilarious that it has the pope's last name as Pope. Also, when the pope was declared as my baby daddy, there was hilarious picture of the pope facepalming.

(... Yeah, I definitely have to get back to work.)

Oh, Mr. Twain, you are quite the hardcore snarker: Mark Twain offers some literary snark on James Fenimore Cooper and the Broken Twig Series Leather Stocking Tales. Hilarity ensues.

Also, my computer has twice tried to convince me that it is infected with viruses, but I know that it is lying because the dialogue boxes containing said information include phrases such as "WARNING!!!!" which makes me know it is the internet playing tricks because any self-respecting program would not abuse punctuation like that. Yeah. I can see through your lies, Mr. Internet.

I've also uploaded some of my own userpics just for a change. & I make much better icons in GIMP now, so I thought I'd make use of them.

Note to self: Do not spent excessive time reading the Tear Jerker page on the TV Tropes Wiki, as it brings about severe depression. (Makes me really want to write the depressing parts of Across the Ocean, because there's a very significant character death that pretty much brings down the mood of the whole plot for a while.)

So you know the mysterious technological event involving Sephiroth my alarm clock and the random playing of "Make Your Own Kind of Music" when I got out of the shower that I was talking about on Tuesday? I think I've figured out the mystery. The reason the song was still playing when I came back into my room, despite the fact that I thought that it would have moved on to another song, was because I have my playlists set to repeat once they're done, and so I had selected "Make Your Own Kind of Music" even though I had selected it through artist name, it still counted that as being on a playlist, and since that's the only song I have by Cass Elliot, it just played on repeat over and over. This was confirmed yesterday when I had Laguna my iPod plugged in to Squall my computer (to use my 133+ h@x0r skills and transfer music off my iPod to my computer) and I realized that "Make Your Own Kind of Music" had a play count of 12, and the only way that I could have listened to the song 12 times (since I only bought it a couple of weeks ago) is if it had accidentally been on repeat.

So yeah, long story short, one technological mystery has been solved. Now if only I could figure out how FFX got onto my Lost season four finale tape...

Since I was talking about being depressed over Tear Jerker moments earlier, I thought I'd share some silly too. Sonic Weapon Fence, a band that sings humorous Lost songs. My personal favorites are "Magic Box" and "Mixed Signals." (In my own moment of humorous musical moments today, I started making up lyrics to the instrumental "Aerith's Theme" from FFVII which basically state over and over again that Aerith Is Dead and We Are Sad... but that's another story altogether.)

Yes, I am a dork past midnight.

I'm not dead. It's just that a) I've been incredibly busy lately (and will likely remain incredibly busy, due to homework and dance, pretty much restricting my online time to Friday through Sunday) and b) Livejournal was strangely not allowing me to type things into the entry box which was kind of weird. But now it's working which makes me go yay!

So nothing much has been going on with me, other than school and dance owning my life. Oh, except for the juniors' Epic Fail at quiz bowl, allowing the Ickle Froshies to dominate us. And even though "Don't Stop Believin'" was part of that Epic Failure, I still cannot resist blasting that song in my car and singing loudly while driving home from dance. I know it's a dangerous thing to blast music and rock out while driving (especially in the dark), but the way I see it, "Don't Stop Believin'" is a pretty good song to hear right before you die. But I survive.

Oh, and I also came up with an alphabet for the language(s) spoken in my writings (because they sure as hell don't speak English). Eventually I hope to create a whole language for them, but that will be a very time-consuming effort. (And then I have to take into account that there will be at least one language spoken on every continent, and I prominently deal with two continents in my writings, so then I'll have to put the effort into mentioning things like Karis and Xavier only being able to speak Saturan (the language of the Satura continent, where my writings mainly take place) when they go to Thoswodawn, which is on the Velle continent. And it's highly probable that the people on Soalis Island would have their own language, but that would make things even more complicated because I have quite a few islanders going back and forth from the mainland. (I'll probably just make them bilingual. They'd have to be able to speak Saturan for trading purposes, anyway.)

Also, this website is officially the Best Website Ever. I discovered it Labor Day Weekend and there's still so much more for me to explore. (And don't be scared off by the word "trope," AP English students. These are fun kinds of tropes, more broadly defined than just "artful diction.") It's very much for the fandom-oriented, which is why I find it so awesome. (So if I start using weird phrases on here, they most likely come from that website.) Anyway. Best Website Ever. Go check it out, though you might be sucked in forever.

(I think I need to switch up my icons. I'm starting to get tired of the ones I have right now.)

Today is the day for Shiny Linkage.

First, someone posted this link over at BtN (Behindthename.com), and I thought it was pretty cool. I am apparently 5911 days old, or 16 years, 2 months, and 6 days.
How old are you?

Second, here's a link to some amusement that I found at [info]grammar_whores today.
Why stores should put spaces between the words on their signs.

Well, the family is coming up to begin Superbowlish stuff now (because the TVs in the house are stupid and Fox can only come in on the TV in Andrew's room), so I've got to get off before they begin to annoy me. But I've got Scoops Tortilla Chips! Yay!
