| So here's what I did while putting off finishing my homework: ( colorbars! )They're surprisingly easy to make; the hardest part is resizing all the images (especially for the FFX one because I had to capture all the images from video files). Then after that all I had to do was go into GIMP, adjust the colors/brightness/contrast if needed and then run a rainbow gradient across it. Stay tuned; I may be making more. I've also uploaded a couple of new icons that I made this weekend, including a new default one. I'm rather proud of my texture use on this one, and also that on this particular batch of icons I refrained from being all LOL GRADIENT FLARE YAY! Only five more days left of school, and then exams. This year has gone by so fast. We should be getting our schedules for next year this week. I'm taking AP English Literature, Honors Latin IV, Honors Precalc, Honors Physics, whatever the quarter-long senior theology courses are (I know two of them are World Religions and Ethics), Contemporary American Studies, and Anatomy, in case anybody wants to know. I also went to graduation yesterday. I was part of the water crew which was pretty much the best job ever because we were under a tent and surrounded by water coolers so we could have a drink whenever we wanted, and we got to socialize with a lot of people. Except we were the one job that didn't get any recognition over the announcements this afternoon thanking all the students that helped out with graduation. PEOPLE WOULD HAVE GOTTEN DEHYDRATED IF I T WASN'T FOR US, DAMN IT. Over the weekend I found a good site for watching movies online. It pretty much has every movie you could ever want to watch, except it directs you to brightly colored Asian websites to watch them. So on Saturday I watched Serenity (the movie sequel to the TV show Firefly) and it was pretty awesome, except WASH FRICKING DIED and then right after it happened I had to go eat dinner... it was almost as bad as the time I had to go on a tour of the Ben & Jerry's factory in Vermont right after Dumbledore died. Anyway, next time I have a large chunk of time free I'm going to watch Fantasia, which I haven't seen since I was probably between the ages of 8 and 10 and pretty much one of the only reasons I want to watch it is for the Nightmare Fuel-inducing "Night on Bald Mountain" segment because let's face it, that song is awesome. (& of course there's the Sorceror's Apprentice segment with Mickey Mouse and the moving brooms.) Oh, and I started organizing one of my storylines into an actual story. Let's see how far I can get with it. | |

| i uploaded a bunch of my new icons. or rather, i replaced my old ones with newer, shinier ones. i still need to make a star wars one and then i'll upload that.
i absolutely love the chinese music from "polly's penguin christmas." i'll need to ask someone what that music is, because it's awesome. i wish i was a glee!panda or an umbrella!chinese or a circus freak dragon kid. but i'm just a cool!sheep, a friend-of-condors!andean, a big!penguin, and an understudy!fortune cookie seller.
i am very proud of myself because i wrote 1,280 words last night (or early this morning - usually when i write that much i'm doing it until about 1 AM). but still. i'm very excited. i haven't written that much in one sitting since april. (i came close during the summer, but i think that was only 700-some words). the problem is that it's for "the chains of change," not "the power of light." i need to get my butt in gear and figure out what i want to do for chapter 6 of tpol. i need to decide whether hayden is going to return to soalis island or not. i think she will, but then i have to change my chapter 7 (of which i already have a little less than half written). but if hayden goes back to soalis island, then she can show keira the amulet and keira can have a zomgdejavu!moment. but if i do that, i have to change the pov to keira at some point (either within the chapter or i'll have to find a place for me to divide the chapter).
erm, please ignore my muse prattle. =/
i've wanted to watch aladdin ever since megan b.'s "still i think he's rather tasty" escapade (sarah knows what i'm talking about). i was going to watch it last night, but then i ended up being online for 3 hours, making families (bella knows what i'm talking about) and doing other various activities. so now i won't be able to watch it until this weekend. i need to get aladdin on dvd. there you go. anyone who doesn't know what to get me for my birthday, there's an idea =)
oh, and this morning i was watching the special features for star wars episode i and there was one featurette thing on the swordfight/lightsaber battles, and the main stunt coordinator guy said something like, "i wanted this scene to be like chess, only at a thousand miles an hour." i thought of bella =)
regarding my location: i know it's gramatically incorrect. but it was one of the thoughts that ran through my head during sheep rehearsal when nicki claimed that we weren't being cool enough sheep.

| bella has crossed over to the dark side. apparently she has joined the chess club. and don't even tell me that you went to the dark side because they had cookies.
thanks to across the universe, i now want beatles music. i think my mom has a greatest hits beatles cd somewhere. i may have to commandeer that and see what's on it. also, the main guy in the movie (jude) is pretty damn hot. his accent is a plus as well.
i left my geometry homework at school, so i'm going to have to make sure i get to school in time to go to the library and finish it.
shaylagh and bella are geeks. did i mention that? actually, i shouldn't be talking because of my kingdom hearts music collection and my kingdom hearts icons (i made four new ones today). but seriously. making up math study sheets in your spare time and joining chess club. that is deplorable behavior.
Quote of the Day:
“Molo got us completely hammered and then we went straight back to the studio and recorded ‘I Am A Pimp, Don’t Make Me Pimp-Slap You’ and ‘Gay Dude’, which actually started out as a cover of some song called ‘Hey Lewd’ or ‘Yay Jude’ or something to that effect. After recording ‘Gay Dude’, one of the engineers offered us some… ah, let’s just say a special kind of cigarette, one that would help us relax, if you get my meaning. So we were sitting there hallucinating and everything, and that’s when we recorded ‘Come Over Charlie And Invent New Energizers’. That’s a funny song title. It’s actually an acronym, if you look at the first letter of every word.” --Voldemort, from "You Can Call Me Tommy" | |

| so last night, i was going see across the universe with shaylagh and some other people, but then it ended up being just me and shaylagh so we rented hercules, watched that, and then i played "kingdom hearts II" while shaylagh made fun of me. it was a good time.
i am mad because i want to show all of you my created icons (especially my latest ones, which i think are exceptionally pretty for something made in paint), but photobucket is parental-control blocked (and it no longer lets me hack through) and copying and pasting the images doesn't work. i am also mad because midi files are not compatible with windows movie maker.
i am, however, happy because i built my catapult. i still need to paint it, sketch it, and write the "use of roman catapults" thingy. but the main catapult is done, and it works.
thanks to hercules, i really feel like writing a reluctant love story (like how in the movie meg was reluctant to fall in love with hercules). but i don't think any of that can work in any of my immediate plotlines. oh, i suppose there is a little bit of that with karis/jace, but not a ton of that is in my actual books. (references, however, will probably be made to it. it's a very important part of karis's life.)
[EDIT: so i decided to wait out the download time for the mp3 version of the kingdom hearts theme song, and it turns out it's the japanese version. thanks a lot, ffextreme.com.]

| so this morning my mom made crepes for breakfast, which is awesome because crepes are yummy, especially with cinnamon and powdered sugar. but what makes it even more awesome is that i swear that last night one of my dreams involved somebody going to make crepes. do you know what this means? i have prophetic dream powers, man!
...of course, if i really did have prophetic dream powers, the school authorites would tell me that instead of my second lunch period, i now wil take pre-calculus with shaylagh because i'm just so darn good at math. but we all know that's not going to happen anytime soon, so maybe i just have select prophetic skills.
also, last night i finished reading my "kingdom hearts" scripts (but i skimmed through a lot of the disney storylines--especially in kh2 because the game is more than twice as long as the first game). i was reminded of axel's awesomeness once again. he is one of those misunderstood almost-villains. i love misunderstood would-be villains. also, i want to commandeer the names saïx and auron.
while reading the scripts, however, i got all sorts of plot bunnies. i didn't actually write any of them, though, but i did write 600-some words of "the power of light." i would have written more but a) it was past midnight and b) i was at a place in the chapter where i basically had to make it not boring for the reader as keira goes from point a to point b and i'm not really good at that kind of thing.
also, three years ago on this day flight 815 crashed on the island "lost" debuted on abc. which means i've been watching it for a little over 2 years (since i didn't start watching it until the first season came out on dvd. maybe today i shall watch a little bit of the first season, in which the survivors' biggest problems are the distant sounds of the monster (who later eats the pilot), surviving on the beach, hearing strange distress calls from a crazy frenchwoman, shooting a polar bear, learning to trust each other, and struggling to accept the fact that rescue may not be coming. okay, maybe that's a lot of problems, and that's only the first two episodes. but hey, life was good before the others reared their ugly heads.
actually, i have a strange desire to watch disney movies. you know what movie kh2 really made me want to watch? "tron." i've never seen it before because it's one of those really obscure movies. but also, i want to watch "toy story" and/or "aladdin." also i want to watch "hercules," but i don't own that one.
for my 16th birthday we're watching lots of disney movies, savvy?

| I hate Thanksgiving except for the fact that there's no school and it's near my birthday. It gives me another reason to want to live in England because they don't celebrate Thanksgiving. Yeah. I'm so unappreciative of the Pilgrims.
Yesterday Clarisse and I went to see Happy Feet. It was the cutest little movie & it proved that dancing is so much cooler than singing =) Mumble the penguin is so much like me because his feet never stop moving and he can't sing.
So yesterday in Latin we were talking some more about Roman and Greek gods, and we learned that Aphrodite was born when Cronos cut off Uranus' "stuff" and then it rolled down a hill into water and Aphrodite was born from it. Don't ask me how that works o.o And then Charlie said, "Is that why he's called Uranus?" but apparently that's not why.
Yesterday I watched "Elf" except I fell asleep during part of it and then I was kind of sad.
So my uncle's here now so I suppose I should get off the computer.

| A "restore from saved draft?" prompt just popped up randomly with the content of the last entry I made. Kind of strange...
I was so bored last night that I watched The Princess Diaries, The Princess Diaries 2, and Ice Princess--three G-rated, live-action, suitable for tween girls Disney movies. And yeah, they all have 'princess' in the title. They were all kind of cute, I guess. The Princess Diaries was kind of good--I probably laughed the most at that one. The Princess Diaries 2 was... kind of boring. Ice Princess--well, it was like a G-rated Center Stage with figure skating instead of dancing. But it was kind of funny because all three of them have a similar love story. They were very predictable movies. But hey, it killed about four hours of my time.
I was being really weird this morning and highlighting the script I'm writing at 100-word intervals and then undoing it all.
I think this afternoon my family's going to North Conway for the weekend, which means I have to pack. I hate packing. And I hate vacations sometimes because then I can't watch movies and write stuff on my laptop until 1 AM. But we're going hiking, which I guess is fun enough, and my mom and I are going shopping for STA clothes, which I'm not excited about. Somehow looking for Catholic highschool dress code appropriate clothes for girls does not sound like fun. It was hell enough looking for a graduation dress for SPS. At least our hotel's got a pool and two cable TVs.
