Proof that AP English ruins your life: During Obama's inaugeral address, I found myself rhetorically analyzing it and realizing that future generations of AP English Language students may have to analyze it too, since it's such a historical inaugeration & all. Also, I had the Barack Obama rap blasting through my head. Kinda funny, and DO NOT WANT at the same time.

Also, GRYFFINDOR TOTALLY WINS at Harry Potter Winterterm 1. We have a freshman in our group who apparently knows the whole Order of the Phoenix movie word-for-word. See, I'm not that bad. (Though I do think I get my ability for quoting things from my mum, because we'll be sitting together watching an episode of Lost, and we'll both be saying some of the lines before they happen. But only the really good lines, like "Jesus Christ is not a weapon" and "So I guess I'm out of the book club" and "You just killed everyone on that boat!" "So?" Lost has a lot of hilarious lines, some of them mainly because of context.

And speaking of Lost... ZOMG SPAZZFLAIL NEW EPISODES TOMORROW! My mum and I already have our theory!brains on full function. She's convinced that bringing dead!Locke back the the island will bring him back to life; I'm convinced that the island is moving back to the time of the Dharma Initiative which could potentially cause a lot of time paradoxes and brain explosions. (Also, Claire and Christian are unsents, and Ms. Hawking the creepy ring lady is the Ultimecia of the Lost universe, and the island exists in time compression. But that's just me coming up with wild Final Fantasy crossover theories.)

... Damn it, I'm trying not to include so much fandom/geek talk here anymore.

Perrin and Julia keep being intimate in my head. I am not pleased. Get a room, kids. (Actually, they're not really kids, because they're 19-ish when they begin to get intimate-like, but whatever.)

I downloaded the opening FMV to Final Fantasy VIII (on my mum's computer because downloads go SO MUCH FASTER with her internet connection) and I have only two words: Freakin'. Epic. I think "Liberi Fatali" has a lot to do with its epicness, but still. Squall and Seifer dueling = awesome. (A side note: Seifer from FFVIII always reminds me of Draco Malfoy. I have no idea why. Actually, I can see why, what with his attitude and his appearance somewhat. That's him in my userpic for reference.)

So as it's November and NaNoWriMo I feel as if I should get some writing in. For me I think it's not going to be as much as National Novel Writing Month as National Get Perrin and Co. Off The Freakin' Island Month. Of course, once I actually get them off the island I'll probably hit a wall too because they'll be tedious things like "Look, it's Coreon!" and traveling by rail-car and such. Hopefully things will begin to pick up once they get to Arx Chalybs and we meet Antares. I've decided that Antares is somewhat of a cross between Daniel Faraday and Sephiroth, which is a really unlikely combination but it works. He's got Faraday's mad scientist bit, minus the adorkable-ness, plus Sephiroth's somewhat psychotic-ness and a habit of killing characters who don't deserve to die. Yeah. It's going to be interesting trying to portray Antares as a not-entirely-villain. Because he's a good person, really. He just has a few issues, like the inability to let go of grudges.

Well, I've got to go check the election results so far. Last time I checked things were pretty close, in that Obama was ahead for a while and then I turned away for a few seconds and McCain was then ahead. Should be interesting.

I have figured out how to transfer geek!music onto my iPod. Oh yes. It is awesome. Now I can wake up to "ESTUANS INTERIUS IRA VEHEMENTI, SEPHIROTH!" which is what I did this morning. It makes waking up at 6:15 a lot more exciting (other than it not being dark anymore, yay). Speaking of Ominous Latin Chanting, I downloaded the vocal version of "Liberi Fatali" from FFVIII and ZOMG BEST SONG EVER. I always thought that the instrumental midi version was awesome, but everything's better with Latin chanting. Though strangely enough, the actual chanting part ("FITHOS LUSEC WECOS VINOSEC!") isn't actually Latin. The regular lyrics, however, are. Though I still think that "One-Winged Angel" is the best Ominous Latin Chanting song ever. Especially when it enters your head whenever you're conjugating venio in the subjunctive, or when you're innocently walking down the hallway, or when you realize that one of your character's names is very similar to Sephiroth so you find yourself randomly inserting "Sephora" instead of Sephiroth.

(Oh, and as a Latin Scholar, I must point out that "Liberi Fatali" isn't actually the correct form; "fatalis" is in the third declension so it would be "fatalum"--or "fatalium," dunno if it's being used as an adjective and would have the i-stem form. "Fatali" is actually the dative singular form, which definitely does not agree with the nominative plural "liberi.")

So tomorrow's the election, the last election in which I can't vote. I'm not looking forward to four years from now when I'll actually have to vote, because I'm not political, damn it. This is why Clarisse and I are moving to Switzerland with our fat chocolate babies. (Or, you know, I can be one of those people who just does write-in candidates. I could get really creative with that.)

you know the political conversation we had last night at summer's house? well, politics came up during one of my breaks at rehearsal today. except it came up in a rather funny manner:

emily w: ...so my sister's coming home soon, unless bush sends her to afganistan.
grace: ...wait, who's bush?
everyone: *zomg incredulous*
grace: ...oh, i didn't know she was talking about the president.

and then grace showed more of her lack of knowledge about past politics ("wait, there's two george bushes?" "who's bill clinton?") and then we got on the topic of how if hillary clinton was elected president, the same two families will have been in office for a long time, and i was like, "zomg my friends and i were talking about that last night!"

the other break i had included a hysterical laughing fit (it wasn't me doing it, though; it was a bunch of other people who were laughing hysterically while curled up into balls on the floor. i was an innocent onlooker). it was funny until we had to stop because we were being too loud =( also, i must remember to bring my phone next week so i can record alyssa singing her rendition of "these boots are made for walking."

also, i currently have a passionate love affair with "bohemian rhapsody." the real version, not the creepy one featured in the videos we were watching on youtube this morning.

Quote Dialogue of the Day:

Axel: Let's meet again in the next life.
Roxas: Yeah, I'll be waiting.
Axel: Silly. Just because you have a next life...
