| The weather is so nice and warm down here in NY. It's like, 80 degrees. I love warm weather so much.
Things I have learned lately:
1. I am awesome at Wii Tennis. 2. I am awesome at whacking balls in Wii Golf, but I am sucky at putting. 3. Flailing my arms about in Wii Boxing makes me win. 4. My 10-year-old cousin who's a brown belt in Tae Kwan Do could probably kick my ass. I watched her regular and sparring classes this morning and she was pretty badass.
Vacation is almost over now. I am sad.

| Today is the first day of vacation in which I don't have to go ANYWHERE. (Unless I go downtown tonight, and I'm kind of thinking I might want to buy some more spring-like clothes this afternoon.) & then tomorrow, it's up bright and early and off to Connecticut College and my cousins' house for the weekend. (The good news? This weekend outside NYC where they live it's supposed to be in the 70s, maybe up near 80. Yay!)
On Monday I visited Wheaton, which I liked; the only problem is that the town that it's in doesn't have a whole heck of a lot in it, so I think in order to do stuff outside of the college you'd have to go 15 miles to Providence... but then again, I'm used to having to drive for a while to get to entertainment. It was a nice school, though.
Yesterday I visited Skidmore, which I really liked; it's got a lot of dance, and it must have a really good English program because apparently it's the most popular major there. We got to eat lunch in the dining hall, too, and it has really good food. I didn't get to see many classrooms, though, because our tour group was huge and our tour guide was having trouble keeping track of all of us (and also she had to deal with the idiot parents who kept being all "You should stop walking when you talk to us so we can all hear!") The area around the college is nice, too; it's in Saratoga Springs, which has a nice downtown area and lots of shopping and food nearby. It's a little over four hours away from home, though, but that's the farthest-away school I'm looking at right now.
Also, car rides are a lot more fun when you can pass the time watching Lost. I brought the first season with me and I watched four episodes on the way there and five episodes on the way back. & of course my mum and I were analyzing everything considering what we know having seen up to almost the end of the fifth season, and laughing about how trivial their issues seem back in season one. (Back then, all they had to worry about was running out of water and hearing but not seeing the monster and people beating each other up; now they have to worry about ripping holes in the space-time continuum.)

| One more day until April vacation, yay. Except first I have to survive a day with two quizzes and a test, though I suppose I should be thankful that it's not three quizzes because my chemistry quiz got pushed off until after vacation (as did my algebra quiz that I was supposed to have today, which is super-yay). Of course, this vacation isn't going to to be as restful as February break because I'm going to be college-visiting on most of the days, and I think we're spending the last weekend of vacation outside New York City with my cousins. When I'm not road-tripping, however, I will be attempting to write my ass off (though I know without a doubt that I will fail at that, because I have extreme issues with getting my characters from point A to point B), and playing FFX for nostalgia's sake (because that was what I was doing last April vacation... which totally doesn't seem like it was a year ago).
Speaking of Final Fantasy, today I was teaching the ballet class that I normally help out with, and I loaded a ballet CD onto my iPod so I wouldn't have to deal with CDs, and just for fun I decided to have the stretching music be from Final Fantasy Piano Collections. (It masquerades perfectly as regular ballet music. I'd totally do a whole class of Final Fantasy piano music, but the music is too irregular to do combinations to.) So I had the class stretching to "The Oath" from FFVIII and "Suteki Da Ne" from FFX. It made my geek!brain happy.
Another thing that makes my geek!brain happy: last night's episode of Lost. I won't say too much in case of spoilers, but let's just say that Hurley could quite possibly be the true writer of Empire Strikes Back, and then he gives Miles this whole speech about how people need to solve their daddy issues, because if Luke and Vader had solved their daddy issues then the Second Death Star wouldn't have blown up and Boba Fett wouldn't have been eaten by the Sarlaac and there would have been no need for Ewoks. Yes, all of this stuff was mentioned in the episode. Lost + Star Wars = WIN.
Also, as proof that my mum is just as much of a Lost geek as I am, here's a conversation that we had last Sunday:
M: "So what are you working on in math?" A: "Variation functions." M: "And what are variation functions again?" A: "Basically it's when you have equations like y=kx or y=k/x, in which k is a constant." M: "Constant like how Desmond needs a constant?" A: *facepalms, but is totally thinking the same thing*
Damn it, I keep forgetting that I'm working on finishing my US History packet while I'm doing this.
Well, I think I originally intended for this entry to be more interesting, but I can't think of anything else to say. Sorry for all the Lost talk. (Hey, it could be worse. I could be brainstorming about my characters, but I think I'll spare everyone.)

| Well, I'm back after my lovely stay in Orlando, bringing back Disney/Sea World souveniers for all and a sunburn courtesy of a hot day in Magic Kingdom. I'll post pictures and a longer description of everything later this week, but for now you'll just have to get the short description of my trip.
We started out on Wednesday going to Disney's Hollywood Studios (formerly known as Disney-MGM Studios). Our first Disney ride experience? Rock 'n' Roller Coaster which was absolutely brilliant. You start off going 60 mph and you go upside down three times and it's mostly in the dark which makes everything even more thrilling (oh, and there's also Aerosmith blasting everywhere!). Needless to say, we rode that twice. Then we went to the Tower of Terror, which was also awesome. Andrew and I rode it twice; the second time was much better because we got a better drop sequence and we kind of knew what to expect. We then went over to Star Tours, a Star Wars flight simulator (we got to fly around the Death Star and get shot at by Imperial ships, yay!). We also learned a lot about stunts in the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and the Studio Backlot Tour. We then saw some literal flaily Muppet hands at the Muppets 3-D show, which allowed up to get out of the brief downpour that occured during that time. Finally, we went to the Fantasmic! fireworks/laser show, which was awesome - it had Mickey, lots of Disney villains, and "Night on Bald Mountain" (which immediately makes everything more awesome!).
On Thursday we spent half a day at Sea World because my dad had discounted tickets because his Kiwanis group was having a dinner there. We saw lots of sea animals, but things began to get not-so-good when it started downpouring while we were on the Journey to Atlantis log-flume-type ride. We were soaked, and it Would Not Stop Raining! After three hours of being miserable, we decided to go back to our hotel and change into some drier clothes before dinner. Once we were dry, we salvaged our day at Sea World by seeing a Shamu show and a water-skiing show.
On Friday there was no rain whatsoever, which made for a very hot (but very magical) day at Magic Kingdom. We did some epic Fastpassing to ride the three Mountains (Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad) with minimum waits (we even rode Splash Mountain twice). We became master naviagators between Frontierland and Tomorrowland, and we got to see Captain Jack Sparrow on Pirates of the Caribbean - the ride even got stuck when we were right in front of him! We protected the universe on Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, although I swear that there was something wrong with my blaster gun because I got a really sucky score. We saw an awesome 3-D show, Mickey's Philharmagic, in which Donald made his way through various scenes of Disney movies to retrieve Mickey's conductor hat in time for the orchestra (for some reason I was vaguely reminded of "Kingdom Hearts," except without Sora and the Heartless). We saw some ghosts at the Haunted Mansion, and then we ended our Magic Kingdom Adventure with none other than It's A Small World. But our day wasn't over! That night, we headed over to Universal Studios to see Blue Man Group, which was absolutely fantastic! It's basically three guys with blue skin doing wordless silly comedy (with lots of audience participation!) and some amazing percussion stuff (I want the soundtrack - you can choreograph some awesome tap pieces with the music).
We slept in on Saturday and then headed over to Epcot for a very low-key, but still fun, day. We walked around and looked at all the futuristic stuff over at Future World, and then we saw a show in which Ellen DeGeneres was educated by Bill Nye the Science Guy about the importance of energy. We visited The Seas With Nemo and Friends and saw lots of undersea life, including cuttlefish, which allowed me to spout my cephalopod knowledge. We rode Test Track and became living vehicle test dummies. Then we headed over to World Showcase and went around the world in 80 days two and a half hours. We visited Mexico, Norway, Germany, Morocco, France, Italy, USA, England, and Canada. The thunderstorms began when we were watching the American Adventure movie, but thankfully we missed the rain, which began again right as we were leaving the park.
So that's the fairly condensed version of my adventures in Florida; I have lots of pictures that I will hopefully get up here so you guys can share in the fun.
Also, I thought I would share how I did on my final exams and my final grades.
I did amazingly well on my finals; I honestly don't know how I pulled off some of the grades. I guess my beastly study guides really pay off. I got an A+ in everything except Geometry, on which I got only an A. My brain must have been on steroids or something.
My final grades (not final exams, final as in the whole year):
English: A Latin: A+ Biology: A Western Civ: A Geometry: A Scripture: A+
My GPA ended up as a 4.4, which is up a tenth of a point from last year, yay!
(Yes, you may all throw sharp objects at me now.)

| It feels like summer. It's warm, I have a sunburn, and I had modern class in the middle of the day. Going back to school on Monday is going to suck. (Although I only have one real class, so I suppose it won't be too bad.)
I've actually been pretty busy this vacation; on Tuesday I went to the Museum of Science in Boston and yesterday I was in Essex (which was where Daniel Faraday was when he heard about the crash of Flight 815, hee-hee). We went to a beach there & it was really nice. The water was freezing, so all I did was stand ankle-deep in it, looking out over the horizon (I call that "doing a Perrin," as he does that a lot too). Then I sat outside and wrote six pages of my current writing project, which was fun. Part of me misses hand-writing my stuff, but I think I'd much rather use the computer - it's easier to go back and fix things on the computer.
I also have not yet died in "Final Fantasy X," though it was giving me some really hellish battles yesterday. I was filled with much RAGE at many points because one of my characters wasn't dealing as much damage as she usually did against Blue Elements, and then Jacob helped me make the astute observation that these were water enemies, not ice enemies, so I should be using Thundara, not Fira. Then Lulu proceeded to kick ass as she usually does. (Except her outfit shows way too much cleavage. It bothers me.) So yeah, I was playing FFX until 11:30 last night because the game likes to shove as many battles at me as possible.
There's a new episode of Lost on tonight. Yay for Ben's Adventures in the Future! Also, things apparently get blown up over at Locke's camp. Even more yay! And we get to find out if the two characters who were apparently killed at the end of episode 4x08 are really dead! (They probably are, but let's hope they're not.) Anyway, I am very excited. New Lost = good.

| Well, the last two periods of today were rather interesting. Fifth period there was geometry with Math Is Orgasmic!Substitute (who isn't as bad as Dos Pesos!Substitute, but almost), and we spent half the time talking about pretty much how awesome radicals are. (Which they aren't. Radicals = general death of the brain, but for some reason I'm understanding them better now than I did in Algebra 1.) Then there was Scripture, in which we worked on the Timeline of Death, which would be absolutely fine if we didn't have to look up all these dates of Roman emperors and when certain epistles were written, knowing that if one date is wrong, the grade is automatically an 80 of below. (But Mr. Brandt and Father Damien got into an argument over whether or not Paul would write a letter telling the Christians that they will burn in the fiery depths of hell, which was pretty amusing.)
*boggles* My file containing the "Final Fantasy VII" game script is multiplying. I thought I renamed "ffvii" as "ff7" after I changed it from .txt to Rich Text Format, but now I have two RTF files, one named "ff7" and the other named "ffvii," despite the fact that I thought I deleted "ffvii" not just into my Recycling Bin but completely off my computer about an hour ago. But now they're both there, and they're both the exact same file. Oh well, I suppose I will just have to delete one of them and hope it doesn't return. (I think I'm turning into Isabella. Eep!)
I can't wait for vacation, which I will spend a.) playing video games - Shaylagh and I are organizing a day in which we spend several hours doing just that b.) watching movies/DVDs and c.) burning off all my laziness with my regular crazy dance schedule. It should be a fun week. (Especially because I've commandeered "Kingdom Hearts II" and am now playing it on Proud Mode, which isn't too scary yet, but then again, I've only gotten up through the prologue in which you play as Roxas for three hours.)
Hmm. I think this entry was supposed to be more interesting, but I can't think of anything else that I want to put.

| Happy 7/7/07!
And happy birthday to Bella a day early!
I'm going to be home tomorrow, most likely in the evening even though our flight leaves tomorrow morning, but there's layovers and an hour time difference. (And no, Shaylagh, Texas is not on our side of the country.)
So as many of us as possible have to get together to see OotP on Wednesday. I just saw a "First Look" preview thing on HBO (hahaha I almost typed HBP there). And did you know that HBO stands for Home Box Office? I didn't! Anyway, the movie looks pretty darn awesome, even though there's going to be a lot of things taken out, etc. The problem is that if we do see it on Wednesday, I have driver's ed in the evening (from 5:30 to 8:30 I believe) so we would have to see it before then. We also have to organize our DH party so we can all get the book together at the midnight party. Then I think we should all go back to someone's house and we can all read it, but that could be potentially problematic ("What part are you on?" "Oh, [insert character here] just died!" "ZOMG NO I HAVEN'T GOTTEN TO THAT PART YET!") So maybe we can just go back to our individual houses and read it all night and then talk about it after we're all done. Sometime before the book comes out I'll be posting my list of predictions for DH, so you all can agree or disagree with me.
Yesterday I went to a water park and saw a fair amount of good looking boys/young men. I caught a glimpse of a lifeguard who looked a bit like Leonardo Dicaprio. It was pretty awesome. And then there were some tubing rides in which I got caught in whirlpools. It was fairly humerous watching me trying to get out.
Also, Wednesday morning in the shower I basically planned out my entire series. Well, re-planned it out, because I've had to change a lot of things because of things that I've taken out (like a great deal of Sari's speshalness). It's still 5 books long, but I just swapped things around a little. I have to kill off one more character than I intended so I can make things work, but it's no huge loss.
Okay, so I think that's enough for this entry. If any of you guys want to get together this week, I have dance classes on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings and driver's ed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights, but other than that, I'm free.

| Howdy, ya'll. Greetings from San Antonio, Texas =)
Just posting this to say that I have computer access here (my dad brought his laptop & we have Internet service in our hotel room).
So I think I'm going to watch the end of Titanic, which is on TV right now. Leonardo Dicaprio is very pretty.

| I'm really missing that wireless Internet that gave me no time limit =( I was on the NW for about three hours last night and the stupid Neopets people gave me a warning because I was quoting a spammer. And I was like, "Pssh, I don't care about your site."
But it's nice to be with my laptop baby again.
Yesterday at mini-golf I lost. I got a 51 when par was 44. And everyone else got under or at par. But I did better than I usually do. And because my dad won (he got three holes-in-one, lucky lucky person) he got to buy us ice cream at a place with the most darling trash cans. They were shaped like ice cream cones.
And today we left the hotel and went hiking to some cliffs and New Hampshire's tallest waterfall. The area with the waterfall was very nice (but not as nice as the waterfall in Quebec) and there were a fair amount of attractive guys there too. One even had his shirt off, but I digress. And then later I was crossing a small stream and my sneaker got caught between two rocks and it got all wet but thankfully we were almost at the end of the trail by then.
And Shayla, tell me if you have Windows Movie Maker on your laptop (assuming you're bringing that to your camp with you), because if you do, I can show you guys my graduation movie (which is actually pretty good) and perhaps even my dancing Snape movie. I would make a DVD with them on it, but for some reason Windows Movie Maker files aren't compatible with my DVD-making program.
Speaking of DVDs, I still haven't gotten my dance recital DVD yet =(

| I'm in the hotel room in North Conway on my dad's laptop using wireless internet that gives me NO TIME LIMIT. Yay.
I was just at the little shopping village place near our hotel, and I got two shirts and three pairs of pants for STA. I would've had four pairs of pants but the fourth pair was "too low." And so Andrew and I came back to the hotel while my mom and dad went shoe shopping. And nothing good was on TV so now I'm online. But last night I watched Whose Line Is It Anyway? (damn funny show) from 8:30 to 11 and Full House from 11 to 12. This morning my mom asked me how late I was up last night (because we're in a suite-ish room with two rooms, and I'm stuck on the floor in the kitchen/normal room) and I said I was watching Full House until midnight and she was like, "WHAT?!" Honestly, she has no idea that that's my normal rountine during the summer. (Except it's not always Full House I'm watching till midnight. It's usually various movies or I'm writing.)
So that's my update from North Conway. Oh, and we're going mini-golfing later today. Yay.
